July 2011:  UFI’s Global Barometer Survey on exhibitions

UFI’s 7th Global Barometer Survey, completed in June 2011, confirms a return to gross turnover growth for a majority of companies in the exhibition industry.  The data was collected from 194 companies in 54 countries.  Survey results can be downloaded here.

July 2011:  Exhibition US Whitepaper

The new white paper released by The Centre for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) entitled "Are We a Troubled Industry?" takes a look at the exhibition business model.  The author is Douglas L Ducate.   A full copy of the paper is available for complimentary download from the CEIR website.

US Study highlights cost of Visa Barriers

A study released in December 2010 by the Centre for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) showed via barriers showed a loss of some 116,000 participants to trade shows in exhibitions.   CEIR engaged Oxford Economics to conduct the study and quantify the loss.   For details on the study “The Economic Impact of International Non-Participation in the Exhibition Industry Due US Visa Issues”  availablehere.

UFI Survey says Exhibitions on upturn.  

UFI released its 6th Global Barometer Survey for the exhibition industry, conducted in December 2010.  It suggests the exhibition industry has turned the corner of the past difficult two years.  Click here to read the results.  Download the survey for free at free downloading at www.ufi.org under the Trade Fair Sector menu.

UFI/BSG's report on the Asian Exhibition industry is also available for purchase from HK's Business Strategies Group.  Another global report on the exhibition industry, showing the market contracted by 13% to $25 billion in 2009, is available from a London-based strategy consultant firm, AMR International.  The 250-page report forecasts a return to growth in western markets by 2011.
