DIAC Visitor visa program quarterly report
DIAC have released their quarterly report for the quarter ending June 2012. The data below outlines the main points of interest for the business events sector. It shows strength in visa applications and a surprise increase in applications from USA up 9.3%. The data also suggests a small growth in visitr arrivals against the same quarter of the last two years.
- 478 581 business Visitor visa applications were lodged in 2011-12. This is a 4.9% increase over 2010-11 (456 168) and can be partially attributed to an increase in applications from citizens of the United States of America (up 9.3% to 68 663).
- 463 577 business Visitor visas were granted in 2011-12. This is a 4.7% increase over 2011 (442 751). This can be partially attributed to a 7.3% increase in ETA subclass 977 grants (up from 179 300 to 192 477) compared to 2010-11.
- The auto grant rate for eVisitor Business Entrant (subclass 651) visas for the quarter ending 30 June 2012 was 84.3%. This was higher than the same quarter in 2011 (78.7%).
- There were 121 067 arrivals on business Visitor visas during the quarter ending 30 June 2012. This was higher than the same quarters in 2011 (116 886) and 2010 (113 717).
